Casting Your Vote
Double check your option ranks
Before you cast your vote, this is a good time to do one final look over to make sure you've ranked the options and child options in alignment with your true preferences.
If you forgot how to view the child options check out the dedicated navigation page.
Starting the voting process
Once you're happy with your option ranks then it's time to cast your ballot so your voice can be included in the results. Click the cast vote button shown in the image below.

Signing your ballot
After you click "Cast Vote" your wallet should open a window giving you a request to cryptographically sign your ballot with your signing key.
Signing your ballot will not cost any gas.

After you successfully sign the ballot, you should be taken to the Vote History tab where you can see the ballot you just cast and all other previous ballots you've cast on this MetaPoll.
Since we do not have access to your signing key, we cannot produce a valid ballot coming from your account, only your account can produce valid votes. This is one of the ways we stop fraud from happening in MetaPoll.
Congratulations!!! π
You know how to vote in MetaPoll! π₯³ Your vote continues to work for you day βοΈ and night π automatically signaling your preferences into new snapshots.
To ensure dead people π aren't still signaling their preferences from the grave πͺ¦, votes start to decay after 400 days. To keep your vote at full strength, you'll need to come back and refresh your vote once a year ish.
Change your mind?
What about if tomorrow you wake up and realize you made a horrible mistake with your rankings? No worries! You can change your vote whenever you want 24/7 and your new vote will become the new "active voter signal" being cast into snapshots.
To explore what voting history looks like, let's cover that next.
